Happy new year!
Hello 2022 - the year of twos. Hope you have a smooth start. I took a few extra days off this week—not ready to let go of the holiday vibe just yet, so easing myself in gently.
I spent Christmas with family in Southwell, a 'historic market town' as we like to call them. Gothic architecture, period properties, beautiful countryside and cute cafés (mostly closed as family-run businesses), but the pubs were busy.
Slightly surreal seeing people drinking outside in t-shirts on the warmest NYE on record, and nice to have strangers say hello in the street. It felt odd coming back to a much bigger town where people don’t make eye contact but still invade your personal space!
I'm not into big, lofty resolutions that are doomed to fail but I like to evaluate my rituals and routines and set some intentions. I’ve stopped guzzling coffee first thing and will let cortisol do its job and wake me up naturally. Enjoyed this piece by the Codecademy community:
